Let's not kid ourselves - the solution cannot be to minimize or even stop using electrical devices. The devices that have already been produced have already left their environmental footprint - all we can do now is ensure that this becomes smaller over the lifespan. Our contribution to a sustainable environment is therefore to recondition as many used devices as we can and bring them onto the market. There is a very simple calculation behind this: if I use a device twice as long, the environmental footprint is halved over the lifespan. In addition, every used device reduces the need for a new one, so demand falls and production and resource consumption also fall.
